(1) Read the text.

(2)  Carefully read and think about what the question iss asking.  Analyze the question.

(3)  Then look in the text for information that will help you answer the question.

(4)  When using the author's exact words, use quotation marks and tell where it is located in the text.

(5)  Some ways to show proof for your answer (evidence):

  • In the text, it said . . .

  • One example from the text is . . .

  • Based on what I read . . .
